General Election May 4, 2019

The City of Drippings Springs is a Type A General Law City where the City Council Members and Mayor are elected at-large to serve two-year staggered terms.  On January 8, 2019 the City Council passed and approved Ordinance No. 2019-02 establishing a Place System for City Council Members, where Place 1, 3 and 5 have terms expiring in odd years; and Place 2, 4 and the Mayor have terms expiring on even years.  Municipal Elections are held annually the first Saturday each May.  Qualifications for seats on the City Council are as follows:
  1. Mayor
    • Resident of the State of Texas for at least year prior to the filing for place on ballot deadline; and resident of the City of Dripping Springs for 12 months prior to election day
    • At least 18 years of age or older
    • Registered voter of the City of Dripping Springs by the filing deadline
  2. Council Member
    • Resident of the State of Texas for at least one year prior to filing deadline; and resident of the City of Dripping Springs for at least 6 months prior to the filing deadline
    • At least 18 years of age or older
    • Registered voter of the City of Dripping Springs by the filing deadline

The City of Dripping Springs will hold Municipal Elections for Place 1, 3 and 5 on the City Council, on May 4, 2019.  Early Voting locations and dates will be posted on this page as they become available.  Municipal Elections for the City are administered by the Hays County Elections Administrator

Voter Information

Voter Register Applications can be obtained in various State, County and Local Government offices.  Specifically, applications can be obtained at the following locations in the City of Drippings Springs:

  • City Hall - 511 Mercer Street, Dripping Springs, TX 78620
  • Dripping Springs Community Library - 501 Sportsplex Drive, Dripping Springs, TX 78620
  • Hays County Precinct 4 Substation - 195 Roger Hanks Parkway, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

To be qualified to vote in the General Election for the City of Dripping Springs, your application must be received by the County Voter Registrar at least 30 days prior to the posted election date.  More information regarding Voting Registration, Absentee Voting, and Military and Overseas voting, can be found here.
